Heroin is an illegal, highly additive drug processed from morphine, a naturally occurring substance extract. It was first synthesized in 1974 by Bayer A.G as a cure for cough.
Regular use of heroin increases the body tolerance and dependence on it  where continuously increasing dose is required to have the same effect.

This will lead to psychological habituation and physical dependence. Patient will need to use heroin at increasing doses just to maintain normal function. Withdrawal symptoms includes severe body aches, diarrhea, insomnia, panic attacks, muscle spams, smell, hearing and cravings.
